If it's an actor I usually skip it but if it's somebody I don't recognise I assume they must have done something interesting to warrant being there.
I don't really know why actors are assumed to make good interviewees, most of them are quite dull.

Re: Top Gear Season 19
The best thing about this season is it's been shown on Foxtel @ 7:30pm Sunday and repeated @ half 10 or 11 pm same night. There were three ad breaks in it tonight but nothing was cut out. Of course it's a week behind but it's still the best coverage we have for it on TV here.

Re: Top Gear Season 19
I was going to keep up my Foxtel on Xbox purely for this, but then decided it wasn't worth it. Have been downloading the ep's quicker than I would see them on Foxtel anyway, I don't feel I am ripping off anybody in doing so, if they want my business they either need to be more competitive or just show the bastard live/very close to real time. It can't be that hard surely!?!

Re: Top Gear Season 19
The Star in the Car was Lewis Hamilton back to do his lap on a dry track. I won't spoil how he did.
Not a bad episode but the rugby bit at the end dragged on and on and they've done car footy about 3 times before already. First time was great, but the rest were dull.
Episode 5
Series 19 Episode 5 of 7
Duration: 1 hour
Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond tackle the twin problems of an ageing population and the increasing complexity of modern cars. Their solution is to design a vehicle exclusively for the elderly and then test it out in Dorset with a little help from a trio of pensioners.
James May assesses the new Range Rover around London and then shifts to Nevada for the ultimate challenge against an autonomous military machine. Plus actor James McAvoy is the star in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Re: Top Gear Season 19
The hot hatch test was good. More for the footage of the cars than what was said. Clarkson did his usual thing and seemed to go against what every other journo thinks but that's his prerogative. I know the car footy thing has been done before but I really enjoyed it. And Lewis's lap was good too. Overall I actually enjoyed it but there wasn't enough James May.

I have skipped it nearly every time. One of the only ones I would recall watching is Jay Leno. I don't give two flying ducks what most of these "famous" people have driven nor if they can take a cheap car around a track in reasonable time.durbster wrote:I'm the opposite.r8response wrote:If I don't instantly recognise the "star" i just skip it.![]()

Re: Top Gear Season 19
That wasn't bad but again I thought the main item (pensioner car) was too long really. I'd rather have seen more on the range rover.
Episode 6
Series 19 Episode 6 of 7
Duration: 1 hour
In the first of a two-part Top Gear special, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are in Africa with a simple mission - to find the definitive source of the Nile.
Over the years many explorers claim to have already done just that, but the Top Gear trio believe that they can do better by travelling further and faster than any exploration team in history using only grit, ingenuity and three ageing estate cars.

First half of the Africa special was great and according to Sniff Petrol it gets better too.
I'd love to see a making of when they do something like this. You can't possibly drive acrosss the heart of Africa without all sorts of incidents.

Re: Top Gear Season 19
Now with Top Gear over for another season, I had a look at a few 5th Gear episodes.
Not bad at all. Not all the fancy shit that Top Gear have, but enjoyable. Vicki's face when she races a jet is awesome.
What do others think of it?
