I wont bother until the weekend I think...
There was fair warning from RockStar themselves that this shit might happen.

So for those who got online... is it based off of console friend lists or RockStar Social?

Both.
You can invite/join sessions from Xbox friends, Social club crews, previous lobby guests etc.
From what I did play, it was great fun. The cars feel a little different if I am not imagining things and the cops are also alot less pleasant.


Yet to see if there is cross platform, I recall seeing there might be some cross platform coop?

Has Arse created a crew? I'd imagine Rockstar would censor the name as people can't use the work "BUTT".

For PlayStation 3 users, a PlayStation Network server issue was detected that was limiting the amount of possible concurrent users. This was preventing most players from accessing GTA Online altogether and as of this morning, that problem was resolved.

Bleh, still not getting notifications on email - I've opened it up now so its no longer invite only

Got on last night for an hour or two, even managed to start my own race, but then it locked up joining another race. Ended up quitting the game and since then my character has disappeared (again). Keep getting to about the same point every play through, couple level ups and enough money to buy a cheap garage.

I think once everything is working its going to be pretty bloody awesome. The whole interaction menu is pretty neat. Just need to remember to bank my money more often (always use your phone > internet > maze bank > deposit).

It appears to be mostly up and running at the moment. Few minor issues. But most of today I've been having good times. On Xbox that is.

For those that have joined the social club I've promoted everyone to commissioner which gives you more access to the crew settings

Next step is to start organising a time to get together and do some missions
