That is the excuse anyway, of course the business case did not stand up surely?

Yep, I think there would be a lot of factors for waiting to introduce the Camaro.

* The Eurrodore is still too new (2nd season in Supercars).
* The Camaro is not yet available in AUS (& not til 2021 iirc).
* Development costs of both, especially as the Erruodore is so new.
* The Erruodore road car sales are pathetic (as if that wasn't expected).
* The look of the Mustang in the current supercars chassis & the danger of what it'll do to the Camaro.

All in all I can see why they are delaying, for now.

Yeah that was huge.
Brad Jones must farken had Adelaide, he's lost so many cars & dollars there.
At least this one didn't rollover but its just as bad as if it had.

Anytime there's a big accident there's a 70% chance it's a BJR machine. Todd Hazelwood still wins for his crash at Sandown. Nick Percats rear ender at the AGP was up there as well.

Decided to use the 14 day free trial for KayoSports

Dual monitor setup works quite well. Left monitor is full screen telecast. Right monitor is timing with "directors cuts" picture in picture.

I don’t think I’ve seen such a dominant win for awhile at Adelaide. No SC definitely helped the case but no one could match Scott M today.

Mostert sideways in the pits was great!

Yep & just added to the many mistakes for Mostert this race.

Even though I'm a Holden follower I was cringing listening to RD whinge about the Mustangs performance post-race. His point might be valid but he has a very short memory...

The season is primed to be another good one. Mc Laughin is sure on top of his game right now so it'll be interesting to see how RBRA responds.

Red camp will be screaming "Nerf the Mustangs!"

I'v'e always been a Holden fan but it helps to have drivers you want to follow like Brock or Skaife. But these days the Krautodore looks like shit where as Mustangs were cool until you hit those horrible 80's abominations. Sad thing is though, the safety car looks better than the race cars cause it can keep it's true roof line.

Having a Mustang safety car was a mistake.. Allows those comparisons. They should use a neutral car.. Hyundai Getz maybe?

Winterbottom had a great drive from last to sixth. Also top job from Todd Hazlewood to stay in the top 10 today.

Scott is massively on top of his game and his car. No one came close to him all weekend.

Be interesting to see if anything changes at the next two tracks.

Quite a good interview with Greg Murphy here (you might need to change the itunes location but look for 'Behind the Glass' ep42)
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/beh ... 30540?mt=2

I listen to the podcasts but didn't know who the guy was but now I do!! Ripper!

No Aussie motorsport enthusiast will ever forget this day in history.

I still get chills watching that. A 2.07 was on the cards for someone to grab for a few years, but no one had done it, they were all still in the low 8's. JB got a 2.07.95 and it seemed to be almost impossible to beat. Then Murphy went out after the first sector it looked like he might beat him, then after the second sector it looked like he might do the unthinkable and get a low 2.07, when he crossed the line with a 2.06.8 I was totally stunned. I'd grown up watching a lot of the big names do some amazing things at Bathurst but I'd never seen a single lap that far ahead of everyone else. From memory it took 6-7 years to beat. Murph was from another planet that day. Despite his wins etc he'll always be remembered for that lap.

I still think its one of the single greatest moments in Australian touring car history.

Crazy that it took so long to beat as well.

Was at the track that day. Everyone was stunned at how fast he went.

Whole pit lane came out.

Out of interest, what's the lap record now? Or have regulation changes meant it's pretty much unbeatable?

The rules are still similar, they've evolved a bit. But the quickest V8 time is a 2.03.8 by Scott McLaughlin.

It was a great lap for its time. Jenny B in a Mclaren was great too and then there was the bike races...

Yeah but we had a big resurface in there right?

Yep, funnily enough the times didn't really improve the first year until the second year when they dropped quite a bit.

That's standard for most resurfacing. However this year had a softer tyre and I think a diff change.
