Re: DiRT Rally
So there is something else going on. My controls never reset.
Sometimes the game does reset to windowed mode. All I do is go into the graphics settings, change it to windowed mode and exit the menu. It asks if I want to keep the changes, I decline and it goes back to fullscreen.

Currently dead last by a mile in the latest ARSE event.
Got jammed betwix 2 rocks on the one stage I was doing ok.
I runs pretty shitty in windowed mode. 40FPS with a 1070. The issue is not uncommon. Even more so if you have a mobile GPU. Fucked if I know. Is the only game that does it.

That's odd, I've never had an issue running this one in tripples.norbs wrote:Refuses to run on triples unless in a window. Tops.

Norbs, try the following; after starting it up, try to restart it, then go to the taskbar, minimise it clicking there, then maximise it, finally hit alt-enter. That should put it into full screen. Don't ask me why, sometimes this is the only way.
I've had all sorts of problems with it, lately it's crashing, and randomly changing to windowed mode mid-game (explain that!) and the sticky keyboard buttons are back in full force, too. Codenoobs. Total fucking n00bs.
I could drown the interface & controls department of codies in a teaspoon of water.
I guess someone really wanted to fuck with you, Norbs, gifting you this...

Tried that. As soon as I hit ALT-ENTER the screens go black for about 3 seconds then back to windowed mode. So you know when your sick and you should do things in shirt bursts... Well I did all stages at once. Should not have done that. Last stage was hell.

I have watched a couple of Tim "Head like a bucket of arseholes" Wheatley's Youtubes of that game. Zero interest to me.

Apart from the shitty bugs and windowed mode, this is gangs of fun in the older cars.
the newer cars are just too fast for me.

Re: DiRT Rally
I've been crook as a dog with a sinus infection and wisdom tooth removal. I did exactly the same thing, although apart from an average of about 1 spin per stage, I really came away pretty clean. The last stage in the dark fucked with my head though and was probably the only stage I couldn't put my lost time down to spins, it was just purely lack of pace, was in cruise mode by then.NeilPearson wrote:So you know when your sick and you should do things in shirt bursts... Just happy to finish and hope to have a bit more of an attack on Monaco, although not traditionally one of my better venues.

I took so many penalties on stage 2 at Monte Carlo, it was like watching Euro 2016. Then I totalled it in stage 4

So how do I see results of the ARSE rallies? Only in game?

Well, I went all right until I went over the edge. Bitch of a place. But I'd like to know how you guys can pull 20s on me on a mere 3 minute run (first stage). It's insane. And I was pushing!

Re: DiRT Rally
Well. Based on the previous runs there will be a few
But I feel I'm going farken fast - altho once you have enough runs under the belt, I guess you can learn the stages to a fair extent.
Maybe VR helps, too. I know that back when I was using my 3d glasses I could really well see corners, whereas on the flat screen it's a bit of a struggle to make out the details and how far is everything.

Re: DiRT Rally
Learning stages doesn't even come in to it for me. I pretty much just run 1 shakedown or one random stage if I haven't played in a while before tackling the event.
It normally takes until about half way through stage 1 and the old brain just starts functioning on pace noted alone, I find that's when the pace hits. I actually pay bigger all attention to the road or surroundings, when I overthink I start making mistakes.
I generally lose that concentration level mid stage 5 though. So most of the time my costly runs are at the start and the beginning.

Re: DiRT Rally
Except the Cooper, a little flat. Like the other 60 machines and the modern mini traveler, but great fun, jump in any time is an advantage.
