theres this.... seems to have minor hail damage.
also...

Both private sales, and not bad prices either... little skeptical about the one thats $5.9k
And yeah they are going to be auto.. but at least they have the semi auto feature thing. It started out as a replacement car for the time being, but seen some nice looking falcons around that I might be tempted by. Didn't know I would be able to get a BA for that price range.

Re: My next car
Well a couple of cars I've enquired about on carsales haven't got back to me (the people who own them I mean, not the cars themselves, that would just be silly)... which were the only two falcons I liked on the site.
So decided to search Lancers tonight.. I quite like the look of them, they arn't as big as a falcon which I like to be honest, and the people I know who have owned them havn't had any trouble at all.
I rang about this one, and going to see it on saturday morning.
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/pri ... 3&__Nne=15
Its the MR model which as far as i can tell has the 1.8 ltr rather than some of the pissy 1.5's.
thoughts?

Re: My next car
Spend a bit more and you'll get the size and the power as well;
The 380 is the equivalent of the falcon, with its 3.8L engine, not the lancer. More spacious too.

P.S.
bloody hell the forum is horribly slow tonight.

Re: My next car
Havnt really got any more to spend, this is all happening quicker than expected because my current car is causing me issues. Seven grand is absolute max really.
I can't get that link working though ysu, what is it?
Edit: ahhh they work now! Nah that's far too much for the time being ysu.

Re: My next car
edited the post - but it took ages to get through. sorry dude.
and yeah, for 7K you won't get it, it starts around 10-11, due to its low age.
Edit: hey, forum is back in working condition...it seems that someone is hogging the resources with some badly written crap from time to time...it has ended in an instant.

Don't need to "shut up", just realise there is more to cars than 380'sysu wrote:Yeah, I'm starting to sound like an old record, but I love the car. Ok I'll shut up now.
Anywho, something like THIS would be a good choice

Re: My next car
yeah I checked that one out... What turned me off it compared to the one I rang about is that it's done more km's and... Well... It's yellow! Haha not sure I could live with that.r8response wrote:Don't need to "shut up", just realise there is more to cars than 380'sysu wrote:Yeah, I'm starting to sound like an old record, but I love the car. Re: My next car
yellow is nice - for a lambo
But I dont' think I'd mind if the car otherwise is good.
My bro had a lancer a few years back and it was a nice car, too.

Re: My next car
Bro has a 2005 model lancer, pretty much the same colour if not brighter. You don't notice it after a while. Nice car to drive... Even if it is FWD

Re: My next car
i have an idea dex.
how about you buy my magna, its not yellow but BLUE with sparkles
go anywhere monster truck ground clearance and brand new front struts [dunno what brand though]. its got a stezza and all yer mates can lie down in the boot under a mattress and trick the music festival organisers. it has a massive 2.6l engine and it certainly is right there under the bonnet thats for sure let me tell you. doors all open and close again noooo dramas, lots of ashtrays!
special price just for you is $6999.95 INCLUDING GST drive away no more to pay till you need petrol now i know thats within your budget isnt it!?

Re: My next car
If your thinking about a lancer, buy a rolla.. holds value heaps better, and toyota relability is next to none

Re: My next car
Yeah I did initially look at them, there just isn't much there. They hold their value too well and I didn't like what I saw for they money I could spend. I agree though, mechanically a rolla is better. My current car is a prime example of that. 21 years old and still going strong... The rust is mainly what's fucked it.

Re: My next car
Ahh didn't really trust em that much tbh. They didn't contact me back anyway so if they were ok I guess they got sold.
Ended up buying a 2003 Lancer... Paid more than I wanted to, but the car is really tidy, I guess it makes it worth it. I drove a 1.5, they are fucking gutless. The 1.8 was heaps better to drive. I'm sure I'll post up some pics at some point when I pick it up.
