Re: Ashes 2009.
Not been able to contribute over the last couple of days due to illness. I listened to the last 15-20 overs on TMS and to be honest it never sounded like we wouldn't get the draw, thankfully Lee wasn't around or we would have been in trouble. I see Ponting was having a go at us for timewasting, as if he wouldn't have done the same

No problem with them wasting time but like Ferrari in Austria, there are ways to do things and that was the wrong way.

Ponting is a bloody hypocrite. Australia would have done the same in the same situation.

Fair dinkum, why no Stuart Clark?
Johnson has balled shit all morning. Siddle is at least bending his back, even if he is bowling a lot of wide stuff. Shizehausen did bugger all through the air. So much for smashing the Poms at Lords. 0/105 before lunch!

126 for 0 at lunch
Promising start for us but if we can score loads then the Aussies can score loads+
We have Onions in our side for this test, the most important ingredient in a good stuffing pity we haven't got anyone called Cheese......

Good toss to win...
Pitch is a road
Bowled shit in the first session...Dex and Norbs could have been 126 for 0 at lunch.
No doubt its Pontings fault for loosing the toss...

Re: Ashes 2009.
255 for 2 at Tea, Strauss 100 n.o.
364 for 6 at stumps, Strauss still there on 157. Dissapointing final session for us. Tuffers predicts the pitch will be in good shape for batting over days 2 and 3 so it looks like the 1st test all over again

Reasonable fight back by our guys...if we can knockem over for another 60...not a bad effort...
Did anyone watch the whole day ? Did t he ball start swinging at all?

The odd one moved in the air. Hilfen-howzat swung a few. Siddle looked out. Johnson is way out of sorts. North bowled 16 overs of darts. Hauritz dropped a catch and popped a finger in the process. And the less said about Haddin's glovework the better. Again, the Poms let us off the hook. 2 for 200+ and they were in the box seat.

Re: Ashes 2009.
Hey Norbs, did they end up giving Johnson the new ball (over figures indicate they might have)...
19 overs, 2 maidens, 2 wickets for 107 runs.
I suppose that's slighty better than his 1st spell.
11 overs, 0 maidens, 0 wickets for 77 runs. He was spraying them left right and centre. My 2 year old has better aim than that.

Well, lets see how the Poms bowl. Johnson went for over 6 per over.

Re: Ashes 2009.
49 for 2... Rain atm.
Sounds like Ponting got a rough decision but he's never made a score at Lords anyway . Anderson was claiming for LBW but the umpire referred it for a catch. TMS commentators said it wasn't a catch as the bat hit his boot and turned and the ball didn't get the inside edge.... However, hawkeye showed that the LB claim was good apparently.... go figure.
