That's certainly beefy machine. You're right, it's overkill in some areas for sure. Why did you go such a mega power supply? Do you plan on running 35 HDDs or something? Or are you going SLI with that EVGA card?

Haha, OK. Looks like a fun rig to me. Good luck with the build. I don't know about anyone else but I love/hate the moment when you press the go button for the first time on a new build. Sooo terrifying if it doesn't go first time. Very satisfying if it does.

the trouble is you will want it again, in about 3 years' time :D

But have fun for now!

ps why don't you get an sshd for the data? It's a small extra price for quite a bit of extra speed - it's handy, especially if your main drive is too small to house all your games.

I wanted triple 2560x1440 screens but it kept blowing my budget out by about $700-1000 minimum...

I spent about 6 hours on a mates dual GTX 780 ti sim racing rig running triple 2560's on the weekend. iRacing was no worries maxed out and sat at a stable 80fps but Assettro Corsa at this res and a full grid would chug down to 16-30 fps and it was noticeable. So i have been thinking of going a solid 1080p rig which i can max out with out any issues.

Been doing a lot of reading on what GPU's to use for triple 2560's maxed out and it looks like for solid frames in the newer games the cards im going with are considered a pretty minimum spec. A lot of people who have this setup running solidly say dual titans or dual Radeon 290X's are the go and that gets pretty dam expensive.

Ive been thinking that I can always get a slick 2560x1440 panel or even a 4K monitor of my desktop use if I want later down the track.

Got my triples installed last night. Amazingly easy process considering my r3volution's monitor frame is a little warped from some of the welds.

At first the right screen was 10-15mm lower than the other 2 but luckly the ctr and the lhs screens were at their max height so i just dropped them and whala, in business. You can see a small light gap in this pic, the bottom of the screens have a feature strip that protrudes by 2-3mm from the face so when overlapped with the ctr screen there is a gap. Ill just put some black vinyl on the back side of the join and itll be gone. Really glad i went with these screens as the face is bezelless and when on there is only a bezel off about 4mm!!! Also they are incredibly light so they were very easy to setup and the triple arms are not sagging anywhere near what ive seen others experience on the net.

Looking forward to tomorrow as ill have the time to put the box together and fire this all up.

Spent today putting the box together. Took my time and made sure all my wiring was neat as can be.
Had to do a regedit to get the Corsair link and Windows 8.1 talking properly but that was straight forward.

Windows booted up off the external dvd drive fine. But as I had no pc speaker I had to rely on video out to know if she was all connected properly. Had 1 small issue at 1st boot, my monitor was connected via DVI, wasnt till I connected it via HDMI that I finally saw the BIOS. :)

Then silly me had the SSD data cable not perfectly seated so I had no drive to install the OS on at first :p

Done some SSD optimisation, windows update, gpu driver updates now installing iRacing and AC for some fun tomorrow.
Here is a quick phone pic once I got the Corsair link sorted and i could change the RGB's to red.
