Looks cool, but that Supercar sounds like shit!!

At the start I thought it was a tourism ad playing before the video. Some impressive bling going on there.

Wow the sound is crap isn't it...

I'm suspecting it's been delayed for some reason as it's not out / not on steam yet.

Any luck with all the sounds on, it sounds like this. There's no transmission whine on that x-box clip.

So it's out and it's nice to drive. The spool diff means you wait to get on throttle but other than that I like it. Sound is pretty shit though. Disappointing :sadbanana:

To get everyone excited for February’s DLC expansion pack, Slightly Mad Studios have started teasing the pack’s content on social media, revealing what will be a pack with a clear bias on American racing machinery. Revealed by the teasers are Corvettte’s Chevrolet C7.R GTE race car of Le Mans 24 Hours fame as well as Cadillac’s new ATS-V.R GT3 car.
Furthermore, the teasers also reveal the distinctive Dallara DW12 Indycar and what looks to be a NASCAR-style stock car cockpit.

Patch 9.0 Which means the US pack must be next week :)
Slightly Mad Studios have released the next patch for their WMD-powered Project CARS title.

The new version adds several fixes and improvements to various cars, including improved sounds for the recently-released Ford Falcon V8 Supercar.

The PC version of the patch is available via Steam now, console versions of the update will be available for download next week!

Vehicles
• Aston Martin GTE – adjusted the AI suspension damper rates down to better handle curbs
• BMW 2002 SW – Adjusted default setup for better drivability. Adjusted optimum temperatures and heating to move the optimum running temp closer to 180F. Adjusted cockpit camera position.
• BMW 1M SW – Changed transmission to sequential, paddle shift to match the 3D model
• BMW 2002 Turbo – Speed adjustments for player and AI for better match in the Vintage racing class.
• Formula Renault 3.5 – Raised collision mesh and adjusted default setup for better curb behaviour. Adjusted various other setup items to make player drivability better. Upped tire temperature build-up to get the tires more in the optimum range to use more of the intended grip with the default tire pressures and setup.
• Ford Escort, Mercedes 300SEL – Balanced the speeds better against the new BMW Stance Works car for the same class. Slight improvements in available grip through moving them into better optimum heat/grip range. AI speeds changed to match.
• McLaren F1 GTR – Fixed an issue where parts of the car would clip through other parts when damaged.

Tracks
• Road America – New race line and corridor tweaking. The main goal was to keep the AI off the curbs so heavily, as with the massive alligator teeth here cause the stiffer car fits and lifting off the throttle.
• Silverstone Classic – Fixed an issue that caused the game to dramatically slow down and at times crash during pitting in a multiplayer race.

Tires
• Reworked some vintage tires to get a better average temperatures increase, resolve severe flat spotting, localized overheating and too-easy punctures which were being reported.

Audio
• Ford Falcon – Reworked the vehicle sounds to a closer match of the real car.

UDP
• UDP – fix for PC joypad and steering wheel buttons not registering.

Drove the Falcon last night. They have changed the sound and it's better but still not quite right. Ignore the sound and it drives well. I can do a 2:08.xx @ Bathurst in it which is on the money in real lap time for 2012 but I'm still 5 secs off the fastest in time trials.

Certainly sounds much better, just the downshift isn't quite right yet.
MotoGamesTV have put together a comparison video, showing off the latest sound advancements on Project CARS’ Ford Falcon V8 Supercar.
The newest sound set was part of Project CARS’ new 9.0 version patch, you can listen to the new sounds compared to the old one in the video below.

There's no backfire when you shift. These things let rip a real thud when changing up. Also the engine note is still not quite right but it's pretty good. Once you get into driving it I found the sound fine. We are just picky bastards I guess.

Slightly Mad Studios have officially confirmed that the Dallara DW12 Indycar will be part of Project CARS’ upcoming February DLC pack.
Named DW12 in honor of the late Dan Wheldon, the DW12 is Dallara’s design for competition in the Verizon Indycar Series, North America’s most prestigous open-wheel racing series and home of the world-famous Indianapolis 500 race.

Designed with an emphasis on safety, the DW12 features a Carbon fiber monocoque with honeycomb kevlar structure. The DW12 chassis are powered by mid-mounted 2.2l V6 turbo-charged engines from different manufacturers, providing up to 700hp depending on boost pressure.

Project CARS newest DLC pack will be ready for purchase starting February 23, featuring plenty of American-themed machinery alongside the DW12

A new teaser video has surfaced on the web, showing us the official announcement trailer of the upcoming US Racecar Pack DLC for Project CARS.
Although in the video Slightly Mad Studios still mentioned a February 23 release date, it is now known that the US Racecar Pack DLC release will be postponed until March 1. Apparently, the newest DLC needs patch V9.0 to be installed and is at this moment not yet deployed on all platforms.

As the name of the pack suggests, the DLC contains four American leading-edge Racing cars out of the GT, StockCar and Open wheeler classes. As with every DLC release, Slightly Mad Studios will also provide an extra car for all Project CARS owners at no additional cast. This month free car will be the British race inspired Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT12.

US Racecar Pack Car list:
Chevrolet Corvette C7.R
Dallara DW12 IndyCar
Ford Fusion Stockcar
Cadillac ATS-VR GT3
Free Car – Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT

I got about 5 seconds past turn 1 on that NASCAR clip. That looks like complete trash I'm afraid. I can't even be bothered watching the rest after seeing that crap.
