Yeah start of the season I think he said he can't hack going to this many races so he's going to miss some. Brundle and the rest frequently rotate now too. It must be hell for the teams as well. But hey, it's all about the money!

That's a coup for them, one of a very small number of ppl that would have intimate knowledge of every single car on the grid...

Love that McLaren Senna tribute livery. It is hard to believe it was 30yrs ago but then I think back to how long ago & that I heard it on the radio on my way to work & didn't believe it. At that time I can't remember if the races were live on TV here, I think they were as I faintly remember I had a late 11pm basketball game so was recording it to watch on Monday after work.

Simmonds will be on gardening leave until the end of the season I think, so he can't take any bang up to date info with him.

I was watching Imola with my dad live on tv. Saw him crash and knew it didn't look good. A bit later, Murray Walker came on the tv to say he'd died. Unbelievable.

Yeah I agree with Scarbs. I find the Senna worship really out of proportion. I know he did good stuff for his community back home but come on, he was just a bloke who raced cars. Calm down.

Very true.
Don't see people with Fangio tribute helmets or Jim Clark (with the odd exception like Kimi's James Hunt one and didn't Gasly do one last year, Seb did a couple too I think). Does always feel strange to see young drivers who would never have particularly watched him wearing tribute gear. I guess the McLaren drivers have to do it but it's odd all the same.

Honestlly such a strange decision, Feels like theres is 4-5 drivers who would be better than him in that seat they could have gone and got ;\

Max has him licked and they don't want to upset Max.

Max must have pulled the preference card for sure...
Which also makes me wonder what happens to Mr Horner now, assuming Max is staying @ RBR

It's totally a let's keep Max happy move - especially given the length of the contract. They're announcing how little they care about the constructor's championship too. Only Sargeant has a larger delta to his team mate this year.

Such a shame that so many worthy drivers are being locked out of a top seat.

Why is no one talking about the money Checo brings in? Surely that is a huge bonus for him.

Got to be the biggest factor doesn’t it? He brings big Mexican support and that is huge. Big enough to out muscle Yuki’s yen

Mexican money allows Red Bull to keep peso with the opposition.

Yep I think Silverstone really shot itself in the foot this year doing dynamic pricing. I was considering going but when people in adjacent seats were paying hundreds of pounds difference between them because of how the demand/pricing works, it was a total rip off.

I sincerely hope they don't sell out.

I looked only a few days ago and pretty much every grandstand has available seats except the pit straight and the last corner. Lots of general admission available too. They used to be £99. They're now £189.

It has got absurd. I've taken the family on two holidays this year and we were staying in quite nice places, and it's probably still cost less than it would to take them to one Grand Prix weekend.

Having said that, I might have snagged a ticket for the Saturday that's going spare :D
