Tow Bar learnings - Sydney

Post by smithcorp »

G'day all - thinking of getting a tow bar for my MY01 Subaru Forester to tow glider trailers and looking for tips/advice/intelligence on getting the best deal and brand in the Sydney area.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Smith, i dont know if it will fit but you can have the one I have on my WRX. The previous owner had it for a bike rack. I dont want a towball on my rex. I have no idea how to find out if it will fit tho.

Postage is the only issue really. I can wrap it and send it. I am taking it off my wrx tomorrow.

cant take it off today mate. My daughter was supposed to go to day care today but she has broken out in some weird rash and I have been at the docs all morning.
Obviously she isnt going to day care now so its daddy day care.

If she crashes at lunch time ill start pulling it off. Either way it will be off this week. If you can wait that long.

Still havent got an answer on whether it will fit.

and this from Hayman Reese

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the towbar fitments on the WRX and the Forrester. The towbar from the WRX will not fit onto the Forrester, our standard towbar for the Forrester is part number 1910 and has a RRP of $396 plus fitting and wiring.

I hope this information has been useful to you and if I can assist you any further please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Gary Gardiner

FFS - Macgyver would make it fit! all you need is some chewing gum, a ball of string, and a small knife and you are set! :D
