We used to go out most weekends and do some big rides. 90km one ride that took over 6 hours. I would always come home broken. Had the bottom of my right ear glued back onto my head after one trip.
The biggest things I have noticed, in order.
29 inch wheels and suspension! Su-ucking-perb.
My vision is fucked. Shadows and bright light have me second guessing myself all the time.
Reflexes. Well i am 52, so to be expected.
Bravery. I have none!
Skillz. I have these in less supply than bravery. I was always pretty hopeless, but with the lack of confidence, it is a bastard. I am sure confidence will come, but a crash like Saturday will be in my mind for a while. I dont recover like I used to.
3: I will overspend on another toy = divorce
