Touchpads & similar devices - any good?

Anyone use one & what are they like?
I know they are aimed more at Windows 8 users but are they good enough to use as a mouse replacement for general navigation in W7?
I already use a Logitech Trackball Mouse on all my computers but I'd like to have a Touchpad on the sim rig as I could sit it in my lap & not reach out to the desk & around the steering wheel.
So I'm think of getting the Logitech T650 for around $70 which is not cheap if they're next to useless: http://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/t ... ?crid=1153" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Actually I just found this lower spec model for $35: http://www.logitechshop.com.au/logitech ... stage.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone used that online shop &/or can vouch if it is legit?

Cause at that price I'm willing to try one. ;)

Been using a Apple touchpad on the iMac for ages.

I bought it for the bride to use but could never get the fucker working in Win7.

Takes some getting used to and on the odd occasion is a fucking arse ache. Most times though, it is great.

Tks Neil, I'll grab it from them if CPL don't have one over the counter when I go there today.

Well CPL didn't have any stock so I've placed an order with the logitech shop. ;)

Norbs came up with a great idea today, that is to try mount the touchpad onto the G25 in the middle of the steering wheel. :lol:
I'll see if that a worthy idea once I get it.
