If I may have an input on format: I'd prefer it to be an hour or so earlier with less practice. It was way too late for the 2nd race, and on-the-day practice is usually not very effective anyway.

I'm actually wondering what's the general opinion on the start times?

I'd have to agree on this. A finish after 10pm wouldn't be so bad if it were an Enduro.

Agreed - finish was a tad late, and I am in Adelaide!

+1 on bringing race time forward.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

The start time actually suited me, on Wednesdays I can only jump around 8:30pm (EST). In saying that I am happy to miss any prac, so if quali was beginning about 8:30 I would be sweet to just jump straight into that and the race.

I was going to ask for it to be 30 mins later start... 9:30 NSW time would make it 9pm my time. Looks like ill never get a race with you blokes if its moved forward from the 1st trial race...

I'd be fine if it was a longer race with the same or a little later start time, but by the 2nd race start/halfway I was only half there.

I like the two-race format, but I'm fine with a single longer one, too.
However, for the single-race format it'd really have to start earlier. Finishing after 11 is a tough call. This way one can leave between races, but if it's just one long race it discourages you to enter if you have to leave early.

I like the two race format, practice should be really short between races.. just long enough for a piss :)

But agreed, bit earlier start would be good, 8:30 wouldnt be a bad time

Great discussion guys, keep it going.

I can tell you that Pix, Righty & I are more in favour of a longer single race event for the next one. Norbs not so much in favour. So much like what is reflected here.
It seems to us that having a single race event would be the best way to minimise the time lost with having to reconnect to the server & do another prac &/or qual session before the 2nd race.
Also we should be able to have a break between Qual & the Race to allow for setup changes & a drink/piss-break. ;)
Stay tuned for updates...

The idea of a longer race is really dependent on the car/track combo, for the longer tracks/slower cars it feels a bit drawn out to me.. I dont think I would want to do 20 laps of Monza in a slower car for example.

Guess it depends, I assume while its still in heavy alpha it will all be one off races not a AAL style series lets mix it up a bit :)

I think a 30-40 minute race would be good if it goes to a single event.

8:30 - Practice (30 minutes)
9:00 - Qual (15 minutes)
9:15 - Race (approx 40 minutes)

That gets everyone off just around 10pm, people can jump in during qual so they get to race.

I think once we can run a 2nd race based on the previous qual or race results then we could split to sprint races.

The other option is alternate between a sprint round double then a single longer race :)

I too would like to see the race time brought forward by at least 30mins although I would prefer it being forward an hour.
I prefer sprints over enduro's as I can limite my mistakes per race instead of per lap, lol.

I'm with santa in bringing it forward a time slot
I think half a hour would be heaps

Is there any way at this point in time to set 2 races up in the booking and let it use the first race standings as the grid for the second race ?
