Track limits, there for a reason.

It's why they need to go back to gravel traps so this doesn't happen.

Imagine that at F1 speeds. Whatever curb they put there will have to go.

That curb is gone but they are now deleting times for track limits.

OMG what a farce the end of Qual was.

If I was Liberty I'd be seeking that all those in the last run are penalised to the back of the grid. Just to spice up the race.

How bizarre. You could tell almost as soon as they left the pit lane that they weren't going to make it. There was barely 1.20 on the clock then and as soon as they all slowed up at T1 it was game over. Stupid.

Nico Hulkenberg, Lance Stroll and Carlos Sainz have been reprimanded - but escaped grid penalties - for their roles in the farcical end to Italian GP qualifying.

The three drivers were found by stewards to have driven 'unnecessarily slowly' at the start of the out-laps in Q3 and therefore played a "significant role in the banking up of cars at a critical stage" of qualifying.

Stewards added they "strongly recommend that the FIA expedite a solution to this type of situation" to avoid a repeat of the bizarre scenes at the end of qualifying when eight drivers missed out on a final lap time.

When viewed from above it was on the line, but that doesn't mean it's touching. So the rule is aslong as the tyre is above the line?

Alex peroni what a miracle he walked away, just a concussion was the last I heard. He was doing quite well in that run too.

How can they all complain about this end of qualifying, LEAVE EARLIER. You have no legs to stand on if you are leaving the pits with 0 margin all at the same time. Even so, the 3 out in front definitely made it worse.

EDIT: Scratch that, not quite so good after all
Update on Alex. Alex is currently in hospital and he has been immobilised until further scans are performed on his back on Sunday. His D6 vertebra has multiple fractures and the medical staff will decide tomorrow if it's necessary to operate. Alex is also recovering from concussion with his helmet extensively damaged. Alex's life was saved by the halo, his helmet and the robust modern survival cell. Team Peroni wish to pay tribute to all of those people that have lobbied for constant progress in relation to safety. As soon as possible Alex will return to Tasmania to recover.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

Lucky boy, Hope his injury isn't too bad. :(

So one safety device saved him from the other one...

Glad they removed the kerb. After the crash at Macau last year I'm surprised they keep using these things, especially in palaces where they are traveling at speed. The distance he covers in the air is impressive.

My wife did something similar in Assetto Corsa once, straight over the fence. But that was in a Fiat 500.

From the onboard it looked like he was on the line, but the external shot always showed him past it. So I'm not sure why they let him keep the lap at the time. Or why Bottas got his time back after he missed the cut off due to the red flag from Kimi's off.

Real entertaining race so far but I don't think the Mercs have the top speed, so it's Leclerc’s barring any more mistakes in my opinion.
