The new layout looks much better. I hope they retain it after whatever works they're doing to the bridge are complete.

Yeah I agree that section was so narrow, especially for these massive / wide cars.

I wonder if Massa will use this layout change in his DWC litigation claim.

No great loss

Ever since he matched a young Verstappen at Toro Rosso I've respected Carlos Sainz Jnr, but today I think I'm a proper fan. What he did at the end of that race was excellent, creating a DRS-train for his own advantage.

I got flashbacks to Alonso's defence of Schumacher at Imola in 2005; using his brain, not just speed. The presence of mind and the racecraft was brilliant.

Yep, Sainz was excellent. The two best races of his career have been the last two in my opinion.

I still have a niggling feeling that Lewis would have made it past Norris without George there. People like him and Max would make that happen.

Yep, I've always rated Sainz but it has seemed like Leclerc had the edge on pace. He's either figured out the car or the car has been tuned more to his liking but given he makes fewer mistakes than Leclerc I can see him racking up a good few points over the rest of the season.

I think Lewis agrees with you, going off the post-race interview. He was careful with what he said but reading between the lines I'm pretty sure he believes the race win was possible. He acknowledged that he hadn't done the job in qualifying so hadn't earned the right to be ahead though.

I winced a couple of times during the race as drivers got close to the wall that Russell hit. I'm surprised he was its first casualty (although Lando said he clipped it too).

Cracking finish to the race. I really thought Russell was going to win it but very clever from Sainz to make a train to protect himself.

I'm impressed with how Sainz has just gone about his business. The team is all about Leclerc but he makes to many unforced errors. In contrast Sainz just drives and doesn't over think it.
