Thanks to Bearman, Gasly is now 21st in a championship with only 20 drivers

Some of those drivers below him (cough Sargeant cough) will do another 22 races and still not overtake him in the championship!

Always good to have the F1 locally, but as usual im sure the race will be a snoozer as they still cant overtake around here!

Unfortunately neither can F2 or F3 and as much as I loved seeing them last year I'd rather watch supports that have decent racing.

And that's on top of those categories being on international TV which means something like 45 minutes between track activity instead of the 15 minutes or so it used to be...

Blimey Russell was screaming for a red flag

I cant believe he wasn't screaming before he hit the wall. The 2 merc drivers are the biggest whingers on the radio. Russell is forever dobbing on people. Sounds like an elitest private school boy.

It should have been red flagged, he was in such a dangerous position & that is a frigin quick corner since the track changes last year.
in my opinion the officials didn't want another shit show in having a SC restart that ends the race.
It is just another example of how F1 has lost the plot just for the sake of "'The Show", it is a f'n disgrace.

Bring back Massi!

I was chatting to another guy who is new to F1 (Thanks DTS) and he asked me today when was the fastest red flag? Spa 98? Grosjean's explosion? I really have no idea, but I bet it was controversial.

I feel like there was a similar incident in the F2s.

I can understand Russell's panic. There's no crash protection on the floor of the car and he's pointing arse first at a live race track.

I can understand the panic from him but the VSC would slow the cars enough that the drivers would see what's going on. Also the teams would be on the radio to their drivers to say where the incident is.

It was a decent enough race. I'm just glad Max didn't win. It's also worrying he was 2s ahead with the brakes on!

Reports DannyRic only has 2 races to up his game or they'll bring in Liam Lawson.

Certainly not the fastest, but the most inadvertently convenient must have been Silverstone '99:

The race was red flagged due to Race Director Charlie Whiting accidentally hitting the red flag button instead of the pit exit open button.[3] While the red flags were out, Michael Schumacher crashed at Stowe corner due to brake failure, breaking his leg.

Yeah look, I kinda feel the same.. i love Danny but its clear hes lost it.. he needs to go off and do Indycar or something in the US
