Cheap DSLR

Hey chaps..

Im in the market for a DSLR but the finances are tighter than a snakes ARSE!

Ive looked at the Canon's and Nikons and also the Pentax 100D.

What would you guys recomend for under a grand (well under if possible) ?

Are you willing to go for a used model? Better chance of getting a decent lense if you do I'd imagine.

So many variables Pix. I reckon Mick is on the right track with a second hand one. I have seen 300Ds and a kit lense going for 600 on eBay. That gives you a bit of cash for a better lense and you can always get other lenses when you are cashed up.

I just had a look on ebay and this guy wants $6,990 for a 300D. WTF?

Thanks for your help lads, especially Norbs for his Overclockers AU advice..

I picked up the following for $700

-Canon Kiss N (japanese version of a 350D) with 3 years left on its limited international warranty
-Canon 18-55 kit lens with USM
-Canon 55-200 USM 4.5-5.6
-2 x 1GB CF Cards
