Very nice dude. They may not have the handling of the six cylinder models but the sound more than makes up for it.

Although, I have a 95 LTD to compare it to Exar, so yeah, the thing feels like its on rails for me. No more floaty houseboat on wheels.

Hehe - I can only go off what the motoring journos say anyway. They're the same people who always said the Gen III V8s in the Holdens lacked low end grunt too though - but bloody hell, couldn't notice that in my mates HSV GTO a few years back.

I stopped listening to motoring journo's, they are too used to high end cars and have trouble with the every day vehicles. Plus they have to find good and bad things to say. Plus they like to big note themselves by showing how many flaws they can find.

apart from the fact the wing will be coming off and staying off with no plans for a replacement. You're not far off. I'm undecided at this point wether it's going to be blown or not. I need to go talk to a few guys in town and see what they think is the best option for what i want to use it for.

I'm budgeting on :-
5 to 7k engine mods
3k for rims
2k on strengthening the driveline.

That should about cover it

I don't have to worry about Stereo as I had a pretty mad system in my LTD anyway, so i can pinch bits from that. I'm pretty happy with the standard sound minus the Sub anyway. While i love my music I am kind of Over the need to have a stereo that makes your nose bleed. But by my own admission, the Standard sub is pretty pissweak and doesn't kick you in the chest one bit.

You chose the best colour.
And you must have a problem with ya steering. In the outside photoes, the wheels are pointing left, and the steering wheel is pointing right.....

The wheels are fairly turned, maybe the wheel is already turned around once?. Or maybe he just took them at different times.

Well, I've never met a guy who spent anything less than 250% of his original budget, but assuming you're perhaps that one guy that can stay sensible and only spend $15k.... how long are you keeping the car for and how much do you expect to sell it for?

Basically, any money you spend on it now won't make any appreciable difference to the sale price to a future buyer unless they're stupid - oh but wait, someone buying a modified domestic pick-up.... insert scratch chin smiley :p

Anyhoo, just assume right now it's money that you're spending on yourself right now that your gf can't spend on shoes.

LOL! and yeah Ash, i realize it's not a great investment for resale. But it's a good investment in me having fun. I wanna take it to some track days and so on. Just get more involved with Motorsport. I just need to get it to a nice spec to do that.

Rims are last on my list of things to do anyway. And i am considering just going some big cheapies anyway.. and keepin the standards for track work.

well, some mods have been done to the car, 1st thing was exhaust, nothing major, Home made rear muffler in the form of none. cost me all of $26 and 2 hours to do that.. sounds like an 8 now. Then it went into the paintshop to get the bingle fixed. Came out like this..

Image

and to pretty it up under the hood, some splashes of citric were applied liberally

Image

now, the ECU shat me off from day dot, it looked a little damn ugly, so i whipped a cover up myself, countless hours of polishing resulted in this

Image
Image

but that's been ripped off now and sent on over to the Q-man to be etched with a little bit of Wormwood Flair.

I've been asked to put my car on a trade display at a local car show come October, so now Cosmetics have sorta jumped ahead on the cue. Rims are next, i have decided on these babies in 20" staggered, 8.5's on front, 9.5's on rear, gonna be pricey though, and i'll probably change my mind.. lol

Image

so yeah, thats the thing so far, just thought i'd show it off a little in case anyone gives a fuck.. lol
