1.9 pre5 and the server

So Raz has confirmed this as working on the server, he has put it back to 1.8.1 for now, anyone got any issues with moving to 1.9 pre 5 and a new map, we will still have the old map if we need to go back.

I don't mind, I got to finish the rail line and pretty much the station.

I haven't given 1.9 a go at all actually, so would be nice to see some of the new stuff.

Alright, 1.9pre5 is up and running on a clean slate, go for your life.

Go to the link below to grab the client, and be sure to backup your .minecraft directory before replacing minecraft.jar in case we have to revert.

any problems show up? I didnt have any. I did some single player on hardcore last night too. No issues other than death lol.

The server seemed pretty solid to me last night, haven't had a chance to get in today for a play but I did join this morning to make sure it was still up and Crowella said it was running fine.

I may have just broken the server... I built an encharting thingy, enchanted a sword (+1 sharpness!) and then the server stopped responding

Doh!

EDIT: Looks like my player file was corrupted. I lost the stuff I had on me (another diamond pickaxe!!!) ... oh well! Enchanting stuff is hard I can't build up enough levels without dying

Did that just fall over again or do I have a bad route to the server,I cant tell at the moment as my phone line on the fritz and net disconnections are a regular occurance for me.

LOL prick! I spent hours crossing oceans, climbing mountains and crawling across deserts... I found a shit a lot of deserts.

After heading 26k's south I gave up when I found an awesome Mushroom biome island. Now I'm making a mushroom village! It adds a bit of a challenge as mobs other than mooshrooms don't spawn in the area. I have to make places for them to spawn or go across to a nearby small ocean. Also, lucky I brought some saplings and seeds with me on the adventure, as there is none of them around either. To grow stuff you have to remove the Mycelium blocks and replace them with dirt block and to stop the Mycelium from spreading back onto the dirt block I've put sand around the dirt.

Tonight I'm going to start a wheat farm, but it's hard to get bonemeal. I need to find a skeleton mob spawner, found two spider spawners so far.

If anyone wants a village, there is a fairly large one (with blacksmith) at 22,000, 768 ish. Only a short walk from spawn!

Level 49.5, collecting final xp to level up to 50 and try for a good enchantment... log out and in to fix a zombie glitch and get raped by 50 zombies at once because I respawned in my zombie grinder instead of outside it. God damn it. Collect my exp - level 10 now. FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Ok, so RC1 must have been crap since it never saw the light of day and RC2 is out now.

I'm still happy to keep waiting for the 18th and the full release.
