iRacing's new Caddy got me a little interested in the road going original so I poked around Youtube for a bit and found that from American Top Gear and I could not help but notice what looks like a lot of Holden/HSV DNA in those Caddys. From the wheels, the styling of the wagon, the attitude on the road, it really looks like a slightly smaller Commodore with all the good bits from HSV. Does Exar or someone know how much cross pollination there is? There has to be some right? Afterall HSV have been doing those cars for 25 years now, they should have it down pat by now.
Also, wow we get ripped off when it comes to buying cars over here! $60k for that, not hugely less than a HSV of course but still...

Hehe, like Neil pointed out. The Caddy is on the Sigma platform and the Commodore and Camaro are on the Zeta platform which is GM's other rear drive architecture.
Styling wise there's very little that goes between Holden and the parent company as far as I know. Even the Camaro had chassis engineering done in Oz but the body done in the US.

Must just be the wheels then!
Guess I just get peeved when the Yanks act like no one else has done the fast wagon thing before when there is something within the same parent company that has done it for longer.
I did think the Caddy was smaller but I was curious about things under the skin mainly.

Nice up till the drag.. but going around the test track it did look good.
