Petey, are you saying there was a nut on the loose?

Re: My Newish Car
Haha it's engine, started stripping parts off today, might go built bottom end and bigger turbo. It didn't spend much time on the limiter. More than i woulda liked but shouldn't be enough to blow the motor but who knows. Can smell the e85 everywhere on the tear down so far lol

Re: My Newish Car
So this is a semi long post with a few photos. Since the F6 blew up nothing really happened until recently i picked up a second hand XR6t motor and that arrived Friday. The deal with my mates shop was he does it between jobs no rush takes a few weeks.
Step 1 tow truck
Step 2 new home for a while
Step 3 Hey rod what are you doing there
Step 4 rod and piston 6
Step 5 Day after i drop the car off, new motor in
Step 6 Still day after i dropped it off, running now i just need to save up and pay for it lol

So are you going to be running as high as last time?

Re: My Newish Car
Atm it's still got the 400rwkw tune in it. Once i empty this tank of e85 im filling up with 98 and loading in a quick 98 tune i had done. Goes in for real tune Monday. Gonna be at 12 psi on 98 I'm guessing around 320rwkw. Ford motor has weaker bottom end. Hence this solution is just to daily this car. Plan to cam an ls1 and put it in my vn calais with a t56

Re: My Newish Car
I beg to differ, the fact you got double the nm that motor was ever designed for says to me it was a pretty strong bottom end Lol.Shaun wrote:Ford motor has weaker bottom end.

I believe he meant the ford motor is weaker than the FPV motor?

Re: My Newish Car
So thought I'd update this, the car was shit after the retune and I barely drove it, probably a couple of weeks in the 3 months of rego. So I decided to go to a new shop because the previous shop just didn't have the time to sort my issues. So turned out the car had over 20 fault codes and the trans was leaking badly and the standard heat exchanger was useless. So new zf trans cooler, trans flush, fault codes cleared (a lot were caused by gunk from the motor popping) new in tank fuel pump and a new tune. It pulled 315rwkw and the driveability is a lot better now and with the cams it is nice and lumpy at the lights lol. Here's some pics even though I know it looks the same lol.

Re: My Newish Car
Get yourself an obdII interface for like $30 man and you can see / clear codes. Plus live readouts of all ecu values.
