Boy that a bit hard for us film buffs to come up with only 5. There are so many films that I have seen that would go into that list. Off the top of my head and in no particular order, here are 5 of my most memorable "fun" films:

The original Star Wars (1977 as opposed to the updated verision)
Highlander (the orginal, all the others were shit)
Fantastic Voyage
The Thing (John Capenter)
Big Trouble in Little China (its one of those films you either like or hate)

Honourable mentions:

Escape from New York
The other orginal Star Wars films (having them all in the top five would not have allowed for variety)
Un chien andalou (1929 surrealist film, also has one of the most famous scenes in film in it)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

damn I forgot Pulp Fiction :/

Road to Perdition is a good film, the cinematography is fantastic, but there is something missing I feel. It never grabbed me in the same way that Millers Crossing did.

It became fashionable to knock the flick after it was so successful.

I forgot Shawshank Redemption. There is many others in this thread I have enjoyed but Shawshank would definitely make it in into the 5, just ahead of Road to Perdition.

Great thread. You forget how many great movies you've seen. It makes me want to go back and revisit some.

Let just agree to disagree here Nige.

Gump rocks in my opinion and the book is even better, absolutely laugh out loud funny.
