Agreed. Things I particularly like about it (or its rumors);

- Higher res screen. Apparently 4x resolution, which will allow for old apps stuck in the old iPhone res to run "double pixel" mode and not look too bad
- Forward facing camera - Video Skype anyone?
- Camera flash - even though it's an LED, better than nothing
- Flat body - sexy
- 16% bigger battery - although I'm guessing all the improved features and updated CPU will drain it quicker anyway

I'll be getting this as soon as Three have it. I had an old 3G which was off contract when it was stolen, replaced by insurance with 3GS, so I'll handball that off to my GF and grab me a 4th Gen :lol:

The 4th Gen iPhone with OS4.0 is really gonna rock :yes:

Only downer;

Screen should be physically bigger. One of the Windows Mobile phones you can get now has a humongous screen. That would've been awesome.

I'm interested to know if that is the final case, or one that fitted into a 3GS case so it could be used outside of the campus. I'll grab the 4G, gf gets my 3GS and finally gf's mum gets a phone, my old 3G.

Should be released about the time I get of contract and after talking to the Optus people, they will be offering me one for free to stay on contract.

Yeah, the only way I'll be getting one is If 3 offers me the new one before my contract is up in exchange to lengthen the contract. They have done that a lot with a mate of mine but I dunno if they would do that with an iPhone.

Whatcha mean? All I've used the iTunes store for is to buy some Ricky Gervais show episodes. Most of my music just comes from my collection.

With applications, stuff like skype cant be used unless its on wifi.. its bs that you get SOOO much more functionally with applications on a jailbreaked phone.

itunes is shit dex.

I kept getting doubles of my music show up in WMP, and i couldnt find them, i ended up tracking it down to when my phone gets backed up, itunes puts all the stuff thats on my phone in its own folder again. i really dont understand why it does it either. it serves no purpose. so i keep deleting them everytime i sync my phone.

plus that fact you have to download 100+ mb upates, which i think the last one just changed the "watched" to "played" for audio pod casts. :\

Best thing is if you start playing a song in itunes, and then do something that requires a little pop up menu from itunes you CANNOT stop the song from playing. its fucked

I havnt really had any issues with iTunes on the phone, dunno. I don't really like using it on my pc etc though. I thought your issue was with the store though? Once u get used to iTunes, it isn't that hard to work with. Certainly doesn't effect my usage of the phone.

Skype I'm sure could call over 3G, but I can understand why they won't allow it. It doesn't bother me really anyway, I have about $600 worth of calls and txts a month, I never run out.

I think the blame should be pointed to telcos regarding making skype calls over 3G.

Actually the last iTunes update was a good one if you listen to audiobooks as it now has an icon thingy to list and pick and choose which one(s) you want to listen too. That was something they really needed.

I think I might actually made the dreaded move to the iphone when this one comes out. I'm off contract with my E71 in December so timing should be about right. The wifey loves her 3GS. Can't get her to stop playing with the damn thing!

Go to preferences and advanced. Make sure "Keep itunes media folder organised" and "Copy files to itunes library when adding media" are both unchecked. I Believe there is also a "consolidate library" function somewhere which does that aswell, but never heard of it automatically doing it.

Well, they've officially lifted the covers and it does look pretty good. Assuming there is an app to sync with Outlook then I'll be all over this sucker when my current contract comes up in December (glad it's then as I'll avoid the rush).

After using the iPad for awhile the iPhone 4 will make the 3GS painfully slow to use.

I don't think it looks very Apple-y

It's not like them to have sticky out buttons and sharp edges. It'll sell like hot cakes though.
I can't see why on earth you would need/want to do video editing on it though. I think the iphone has almost got to the limit of what you can do with a smartphone.
