I was wondering if the gurus know if you can move a spawn point in a single player map?
It has been so long since I died in my SP game that I thought the spawn point was next to my original home, but it turns out it is exactly 2 blocks from the mob grinder I spent hours building and wondering why there were no mobs being produced. Oh FFS!
So, I was thinking I would just shift the spawn point instead of re doing the whole bloody thing.

You can move the spawn point using MCEdit, among other things.
