Real Racing 3

Post by pixelboy »

Yes its a mobile game, no its not a sim.. Yes it may have an annoying business model.. But I'm having a blast hooning around Bathurst in my new Dodge Challenger on my Nexus 7 on my daily commute!

I decided to buy $5 in credits (I would of paid that upfront) and see how far it gets me. So far it's a hoot but waiting for upgrades blows

Anyone else tried it?

Works for me on Galaxy S2 Sammy i9100XWLSD 4.1.2 rom, looks pretty good, will have to get out the tablet and see if it will install on that.

I get device not compatible on my Galaxy tab 7.7 which is strange since hardware wise it's essentially a GS2 with a larger screen.

Hmm, installs fine on my Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. It does however consume 2GB (yes you read right) of disc space.

I've been playing for most of tonight. Really like it just like the previous versions.

I refuse to pay real money to remove the roadblocks... free-2-play model can be really shit sometimes and I'd have much rather paid upfront like the previous versions.

Yeah the model is dubious at best.

I decided to buy credits to the value I would of paid upfront and play until they run out.. So far that's been a fair way..

Will see how far i get without paying!

Trick one is to wait real time for repairs I guess!

Once you have two cars then the waiting part really seems to disappear. Money just seems to keep on coming and I've always bought new cars with the 20% discount offered.

Yeah that's true.. The worst wait is for a new car to arrive..

I just bought the BMW M3 Gtr on sale.. Lots of fun but it needs some major modifications to be competitive against the Porsche's!

I'm still enjoying this.. Just.. The way they lock up the series and cars is giving me the shits but I'm yet to find a better racer for the train and casual racing on the couch.

Something is not quite right with Bathurst though as I just did a 1.52 in an Audi R8 LMS!

Pix, I'm with you about the best "racing" game around. It's just with every update they make it more and more linear, which really gives me the shits. Once upon a time if you had the money you could buy any car and race it in any series, then they locked that down, then they forced upgrades on you... then well, I stopped playing, I raced my little heart out as much as I could until I couldn't afford the upgrades, because I knew I wouldn't get enough money to buy the next car.

I'm glad I stuck by my rule to never buy in-app-purchases and like it in the previous versions, I happily paid $10 for each game.

I got this far before I couldn't sustain progression

They have a Le Mans lead up challenge running at the moment with races at the Le Mans track and you get to keep the Porsche 919 if you complete the challenge...

I'm hooked again :-)

Apparently there is also night racing! :excited:
