just grabbed it off Steam for $20. Still in Alpha as a lot seem to be these days. Only had a quick run around before I leave for work. Runs really smoothly, seems to be fun so far yet all I have done is eat and hide. Will report back after a decent look

$20 for the Alpha. I'm on the fence on this. I really like it (watched a let's play vid last night), but I reckon I'd pay $10 for it. Interested in your thoughts Cutter.

Lovin it.

It's survival not mowing down robots with a M60 machine gun. It's quite a challenge some times. Storing what you can, hunting for things you want while keeping a keen eye out for trouble. Think meerkat with binoculars haha.

Yup all good. seems a long time between saves tho.
It is not a game to play in the dark, worth the money, so far yes..
Its strange a game with 1999 graphics is so enticing.

Just watched a bit of that video, the gfx looks like they use the original stalker engine, LOL.
Is it looking that bad in real life, or it's more of a feel? (in that small video window it's hard to tell)
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

It is the feel, its bloody gripping at times.
Its a game that needs time, not a rush in, do something else, go back again.
But my comment on the graphics being low res, doesn't reflect the atmospherics, it should be read in the light of playing Deadpool for the last week or so, so I've been a bit spoilt.

Another thing, it certainly seems there are places this game can go.
I've only just trolled their forums, but lots of good suggestions, I hope it remains inclusive as it grows.

funny you mention the graphics. Having played Minecraft a fair bit, I found the graphics refreshingly good :D Shows its all relative.

Loving the game.

Meerkats with binoculars. love it :D

Really enjoying the sneak around with purpose. You need to find the machine parts to "win" but you also need food. Im yet to take on the robots and win. I have downed a couple but they get me by sheer firepower. At one stage I saw 1 robot and had 1 bullet. I got lucky with my shot to take him out. didnt see his friend :)

Smiss, I have always thought of you as part aristocrat. Maybe its just by comparison to Norbs you seem higher born. Either way, I think you will like this one

:D Norbs is my brother from another mother! I'll probably pick this up if there's a sale. There's something about the robots in top hats and the steampunk feel that appeals to me in this.

It appears that one shouldnt hang around one's fire once his rabbit has cooked.

Down came the troopers 1,2,3. I had a pistol with 6 bullets and took out 1 of them with 2 shots. 4 bullets left, 2 robots. Im a chance. Didnt hit the next robot with any of my 4 bullets. I swapped over to my axe just before I died :)

To those that bought this, are you still playing it? I thought about buying but I was afraid it would get old quick so I thought I'd ask how everyone is going with it.

I havent really played much of anything lately so it would be wrong for me to say I have stopped playing this, even though I have.

I find it a bit hard I think. Im always getting my arse kicked, and enjoy it but I would like to think I could win some time. What I do really like is that the landscape randomly generates each time I start a new game which is what I tend to do. Maybe if I just reloaded my last save I would have more chance of winning too :)

Smiss, thanks for the heads up.

Is there anyway you can get an email or something when these go on sale?

Not sure I want to drop 20 on it.
