You can see why he's won the title. Hamilton is the only driver to have completed every lap this season and he's scored points in every race as well and only missed out on the podium twice.

It helps when you have a car under you that can be driven at 95% and still win though.

Interesting what Button said about teaming up Ricciardo and Hamilton. I dont know that I agree, but is an interesting theory.

If you're debating whether to watch the highlights of this one.

Lap 1..... FAAARRRRKKKK!!!!

Thankfully Grosjean is ok.

@HaasF1Team
UPDATE: Romain has some minor burns on his hands and ankles but otherwise he is ok. He is with the doctors just now.

I wasn't a fan of the halo at the start but tbh he would be dead now if it wasn't for that.

If you watch the overhead footage again I have to say the firefighters were piss poor.

The guy on the same side of the the track was incredibly slow to react and then his extinguisher looked like it was barely working and he was so far away it wasn't worth using.
The one who ran across the track didn't get his extinguisher ready until he actually arrived at the fire and actually it looked like the safety car driver Van Der Merve had to help him to get it going which looked like it took an extra 3-4 seconds. By which time the doctor was already helping Grosjean over the barrier. Then another guy shows up again without his extinguisher even working and never even fired it.

What a good job he wasn't unconscious in the car at that point!

I agree Kev.

Seeing how long he sat in the fire, I'm worried about his lungs.

Second degree burns on his hands but no broken bones. I think that'll be the last we see of him in F1 and I suspect him and his family will take that all day long thank you very much!

Ironic to think that probably his huge crash over the top of Alonso at Spa is what prompted thoughts of something like a halo which has now saved his life.

They actually showed the footage of him getting out. Honestly, it is a miracle in my mind. He was in a massive fire, he had to get out of his seatbelts, get the steering wheel off, and get out of the wreckage. In a massive fire!

I have seen people shitting on him because he has mad mistakes before. Fuck me, that was one of those split second decisions that just went wrong. The fact the barrier was at that angle didnt help things. He went in at what looked like 90 degrees to me. it wasnt, but jesus it was close.

I hope some of the people shit bagging halos when they came out eat humble pie now.

I can't believe they're still using guard rail. Francois Cevert was chopped in half after doing the same thing at Watkins Glen.

I think, without the halo, the result might have been the same.

Even Grosjean admits here he wasnt a fan.

FARK ME!!!

How the hell he survived that beggars belief, halo or not... That would have been so farken scary...
The value of the following medical car on the opening lap was proven invaluable again...
The marshals were shit-full in my opinion but I've never been one so maybe I should not be so critical...
But no tyre / belt barrier on that armco also beggars belief...

I also wonder how did his hands get burned like that, the gloves are 3-ply fire-resistant like the rest of the fire-suit & the gloves go over the sleeve.
I presume fuel or some other flammable substance got inside the gloves & ignited?

How long do we wait now until this is forgotten and the egg-heads come up with some other new safety feature on which all the arm-chair experts pour their scorn because it's making their hairy-chested man-sport too soft?

He got out in 26 seconds. I wonder if it would have taken Kubica longer.

I'm amazed he was able to squeeze out of there. The halo looks like it's up against the barrier. Such a lucky escape.
