the original was great, the kind of movie that i think doesnt require a sequel.but oh well, i really hope its worth seeing.

the 1st one was awesome, not the kind of movie you can watch again and again though. but very cool none the less

The first one has an interesting premise and its indi feel allow a certain amount of 'unknowingness' about what will actually happen. Some have disagreed with the sequel being made due to the problematic nature of the killer. But I think its quite a workable senario. I have not as yet seen it, nor have I seen the trailer. But the spidey sense tells me that it will be OK.

Oh and if anyone gets the DVD of SAW, have a listen to the comentary. You can really tell that they are both true aussies and have, as yet, not fallen into the "Hollywood" machine. In fact its pretty funny. They even take the piss out QLD.

Bloody hell. THATS where I know him from.

As to the commentary. Yeah I rather like them. Beyond doubt the two best are The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China.

a good example of how good commentries are is from the Dude where's my car DVD..
ok, original movie = Absolute shite that really makes no sense whatsoever...
then watch it with the commentary turned on...

150% better than the original dialogue, and really all it is is ashton Kutcher and Shaun william Scott, possibly drunk with the director in a studio basically paying no real attention to the movie and just talking shit. BUT IT IS STILL SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ACTUAL MOVIE!!!! lol

I don't normally listen to commentaries but when I rented Bag Eggs and Martin and Molloy had a commentary track I had to listen to it and what a crack up

I saw this 2 weeks ago. I reckon ive watched it about 8 times. The first Saw was fantastic but this 2nd one blows it outta the water  .

Alot of the 'tasks' are alot more gory i know they all made me cringe. So if you saw the first one and the Bear Trap scared the shit outta you, you havnt seen anything yet :shake: .

OHHH and Beverly Mitchell

I think this movies budget was a fair bit higher than the first which was shot in just over 21 days. Still if a movie is written well its bound to be good.

Not always. A lot depends on the director. If the director gets the "vision" wrong, 9 times out of 10 the movie will fail.

eg: Getting a director with no idea about parody to direct a film that is about parady will fail baddly.... Last Action Hero is a great example of this. SAW worked because both the director and the writer understood the genre they were working in. So it works on screen.

Well after seeing Saw (the original) I thought it was supremely well done, and when i found out Saw 2 was out, I wasnt expecting too much (as movies sequals usually go down hill) much to my thankful surprise, the movie was just as good, if not better than the original, I thought it was fantastic.....

Roll on Saw 3!!!

Cheers
