I love what they managed to do with air cooled engines.
I really need to get that Porsche book that came out a few years back - I believe you bought it, Jamo. A massive tome by one of the great motoring authors - was it Karl Ludwigsen or someone else?

I reckon there was a mention of that in the Mark Donohue book "Unfair Advantage"
(I think it was destined for Canam had the series continued and Porsche been confronted with any competition, but I could be wrong, they probably would of turbo charged it to for a maximum score on the 'complete and utter madness' scale.)

Yeah, I've always meant to grab that one. The only Porsche type book I've read is The Winning Formula by Peter Morgan which deals with the 917. So there is plenty on that about Porsche's involvement in CanAm and, of course Mark Donahue. Also an excellent book by the way. God how I love that car...
