That's awesome. I would've waited till the owner came back & asked if I could have a ride. It's a bucket list item of mine.w00dsy wrote:I saw this chained up in Melbournes CBD yesterday.

I rode one in Turkey! God, that sounds like something Wobbly would say, although he would have been wrestling a shark that was on fire at the time!
Anyways, I should say I attempted to ride one. Pissed is probably not the best time to try it. I reckon I got 15m before my foot slipped off the pedal and it is a fucking long way down, I know that.

Ive ridden a small one, and that was hard enough. I'd hate to think what the big ones are like

while i've never seen one chained up around the city, i've seen a few out and about on the larger community rides such as Amy's Ride. Seriously impressive effort by the riders to get them up Willunga Hill .w00dsy wrote:I saw this chained up in Melbournes CBD yesterday.

Nah i just placed the o-ring so it looks like i did :P
Seriously, havent hit much big drops (2ft max?) but it uses a lot of travel... front could use more air though its pretty cushy.

Re: Bike gallery.
If its using near on all of it's travel on drops you think will be about the biggest you may hit, then it's probably about perfect, providing it doesn't feel too spongey. I see you took it to eagle, what was it like down top deck? did you suddenly find yourself decending at near double the speed you did before?

Re: Bike gallery.
Well I'd like to go bigger but havent come across anything yet. My first drop caught me completely by surprise, I thought it was a regular log hop until I saw the other side drop right away at the last moment, im glad i had already committed to a bunnyhop!
I've been to eagle twice on it so far, the first time i was on the brakes all the way down attempting to wear them in a bit and the second time it was muddy as shit..... so in answer to your question thats a big no. Fox has been wet each time I've gone there too (the forest was like riding in seaweed) so I havent hit anything fast downhill yet. I'm going double the speed uphill though

Nice EnJ!
I had a look at one of those the other day. I'm still thinking about getting a new bike but with my holiday coming up, didn't look like I was going to be able to afford one till next year. Considerably larger tax return than I'd expected may change that. I'm tossing up between a Trance X2 and an Anthem. I'll have to wait and see if the estimated return from e-tax and what I actually get is similar.

Re: Bike gallery.
I got a bit bored this arvo...
So I went and bought this...
Woot! Trek Remedy 8... went for a quick little night ride on it tonight after a quick bike fit and it was a bit of alright! Only on road though so far though, won't get a chance til Sat morning to take it on some single track. Shitty Photo, I'll replace it with something better tomorrow once I get some daylight.
