Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]
Watched it yesterday, the wife picked up on the Rey being Luke's daughter idea but my feeling was that Rey and Kylo (Ben) are brother and sister - twins run in the family after all.

I hope Rey is not Luke's kid or a sister to Kylo. It will open up a new story line.

If that was the case, wouldn't Han & Leia know who she was? They knew who Kylo was. I'm going for Luke's daughter.Jiminee wrote:Watched it yesterday, the wife picked up on the Rey being Luke's daughter idea but my feeling was that Rey and Kylo (Ben) are brother and sister - twins run in the family after all.

I got the impression they did know, without really giving it away, but I'm sure we will see.Santaria wrote:If that was the case, wouldn't Han & Leia know who she was? They knew who Kylo was. Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]
Farken loved it even if it was very similar to Ep IV. But then it had to be in many ways to tie the old & new in both characters & viewers.
My takes from one viewing:
My money is on Rey being Luke's Daughter. Her acute power of the force is too high for her not to be. But the question for me is who is her mother? Will it be a known character or one we will discover in the forthcoming movies & if so is there a tie into the other original story line or character threads...?
Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) is the rogue Jedi that killed Luke's other students & sent him into hiding. He is definitely conflicted as he should be being the son of Leia & grandson of Vader (Anakin).
Yep who the fark is Supreme Leader Snoke (correct spelling) & why was he so big as a video type transmission? For me the whole First Order story needs to be unveiled in the subsequent movie(s).
At one point I wondered if Finn might turn out to be the son or relative of Lando Calrissian..? But now I don't think so.
Wasn't the old guy with the final piece of the map, one of the rebel commanders (name escapes me) from the original series, maybe only Jedi?
God Princess Leia looked awkward in a lot of scenes to me. I couldn't tell if that was deliberate or just that she actually was but either way it worked out ok.
Sad to see Han take one for the team but it was the logical thing for the story. But I agree he stole the show from the old characters & many of the new, without him it will be interesting to see if it feels the same.
Luke not having a single line in the movie was awesome in my opinion. I'm also not yet convinced he will even be in the next movie(s).
Speaking of which has there been any official announcement of future movies &/or release dates?

Rogue One (x-wing rogue squadron) is out December next year and Han Solo origins the year after that.

There has to be more to his character. This is a pretty good theory. http://spoiledbluemilk.com/2015/12/30/t ... rogue-one/

Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]
Just saw this today with the family. I definitely approve.
I'm not going to stick my oar in on who Rey is, I'll let the story teller tell the story and I'll reserve my nerd rage.
I'd have paid double for Han to crack a good dad joke on Jr. Something like... "Ben... pull my finger."

Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]
I doubt a rakishly handsome scruffy nerfherder like Solo and an all time stunning beauty like Princess Leia could spawn such a creation.
If I had parents that good looking and ended up looking like that emo twat I'd be pissed off at the Universe too lol

How good is the Rogue One trailer? AT-ATs!

Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]
i'm optimistically cautious about Rogue One. It almost looks like they're over doing the girls rebellious side. Like the old cop movies where they'd take their badge and gun off them because they were a loose cannon. But the beach scene with the At-At's looks super cool.

Looks like it could be ok, glad we don't have to wait too long for more Star Wars, I haven't really been keeping up so thought it was going to be a couple years at least while waiting for ep 8

So the biggest question is what episode is it?

It's not an episode, it's a spin off story line. It' explains in part, the lead up to episode IV
